Liam Neeson has given his vocal talents to a new documentary that challenges the safety of vaccines and praises one-time government figure RFK Jr.
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a popular book written by Judy Mikovits, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for allegations that the virus was caused by a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.
The publication's collaborator, the executive producer, has previously authored books with far-right figure the Infowars host. Heckenlively wrote online hailing Neeson's involvement in the project.
The team of Neeson have issued a comment strongly denying claims that he holds anti-vaccine beliefs.
"We all recognize that corruption may occur within the drug industry, but that cannot be equated to opposition to vaccines," the comment explains. "Neeson has never been, and cannot be described as, against vaccines. His extensive work with the global charity highlights his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."
The response noted that the actor had no hand in the documentary's editorial content and that questions about its claims are best addressed to the filmmakers.
According to the documentary, the voiceover provided by Neeson makes several strong statements:
The documentary further cites a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a formal apology by the network for editorial breaches.
Last month, Kennedy instructed the national health agency to alter its longstanding position that there is no link between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is also referenced in the documentary, contrary to a recent study from the global health body reiterating no such link has been found.
Contrasting the documentary's narrative, Neeson has previously shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a Unicef global ambassador.
Previously, he referred to vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."
The documentary ends with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This marks not the end of our journey. Rather, it is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
