US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA on Monday following treatment for cancer since 2022, per reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, including:
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
