Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, readers and a variety of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

My son advised me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
