President Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the family of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

The commander-in-chief explained he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump told reporters. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”

She behaved with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the leader of her previous school, stated to the media. “She was sweet, compassionate and always eager to support those in need.”

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the Trump administration to pause asylum applications and cease issuing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the news agency.

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had fortitude,” the governor told the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
