Vince Zampella, Has Passed Away in a California Traffic Collision

The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in California aged 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The celebrated video game developer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
